The Jefferson City Public Works Department is asking motorists to find alternate routes around two construction areas this week.
Stockman Construction, Missouri American Water, Aplex and the city are extending the road closure in the 1000 block of East Capitol Avenue until Sept. 9 for continued water line work in the area.
In July, Aplex began work between Pine Street and Capitol Court on sanitary sewer improvements.
Meanwhile, Aplex had also started construction along Wayne Avenue, Douglas Drive and Davis Drive on the installation of storm sewers and repairing the streets.
This work will continue through Oct. 31. There will be intermittent street closures during this time.
