MARSHALL - The Capital City Lady Cavaliers finished with a 3-2-1 record Saturday, taking third place in the Marshall JV Tournament.
Capital City posted straight-set wins against Marshfield (25-16, 25-15), Bolivar (25-17, 25-21) and Neosho (25-10, 25-12). Capital City split with Carthage, dropping the first set 19-25 and winning the second 25-19.
The Lady Cavaliers suffered losses to Clever (26-28, 22-25) and Willard (24-26, 21-25).
Aslyn Marshall led Capital City with 28 kills and six blocks, while Addison Jones finished with 15 kills, 43 assists and 32 digs. Sarina Litteken and Ava Stone each had 14 kills, and Litteken added 27 assists.
Jada Anderson had a team-high eight blocks, Leah Warren had a team-best 48 digs and Kalley Brase chipped in 25 digs and 10 aces.
Capital City (8-4-1) hosts California on Tuesday.
Blair Oaks frosh win title
LINN - The Blair Oaks freshman team posted a 3-0 record Friday to win the Linn JV Tournament.
The Lady Falcons claimed straight-set victories against Linn's JV B team (26-5, 25-5), Belle's JV team (25-8, 25-19) and Linn's JV A team (25-18, 25-11).
Alyssa Henry led Blair Oaks with 16 aces and 18 digs, while Chloe Heislen added 16 kills, 13 digs and nine aces. Anna Prenger had a team-high 25 assists, Alisa Ernst recorded 11 kills and Lanee Briggs tallied seven assists.
