Cross Country: Helias at Stampede

JOPLIN - The Helias Cruaders and Lady Crusaders competed Saturday in the Missouri Southern Stampede.

The Crusaders finished 19th out of 30 teams in the boys Gold Division with 447 points.

Payton Kirchhoff paced the Crusaders, taking eighth in 15:48.93. Logan Mathews was next, taking 66th in 17:24.62. Ethan Wilson (98th, 17:51.43), Noah Voss (115th, 18:13.82) and Patrick Conley (218th, 20:29.69) rounded out Helias' finishers.

The Lady Crusaders were 15th out of 27 teams in the girls Gold Division with 398 points.

Danielle Buker led Helias by finishing 51st in 20:46.87. Lauren Verslues was next for the Lady Crusaders, finishing 55th in 20:50.69. Lauren Mathews (95th, 21;53.76), Avery Massman (112th, 22:14.55), Ava Morrisey (115th 22:15.26), Iris Morrisey (139th, 23:00.17) and Frances Grellner (147th, 23:09.89) rounded out Helias' runners.
