Boys Soccer: Capital City 4, Waynesville 2

WAYNESVILLE - The Capital City Cavaliers scored two goals in the final 16 minutes Thursday to take a 4-2 victory against the Waynesville Tigers.

Miles Andrews scored off an assist by Clayton Hamler to give the Cavaliers a 3-2 lead. Nate Wilbanks added an insurance goal off an assist by Andrews with three minutes remaining to make it 4-2.

Capital City led 2-0 at the half on goals by Hamler and Wilbanks. Wilbanks and Andrews assisted on the scores.

Waynesville came back to tie it with two goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half.

It was the final regular-season game for Capital City (13-6). The second-seeded Cavaliers open Class 3 District 4 play at noon Saturday against seventh-seeded Pacific (11-14). Due to wet conditions at the 179 Soccer Park, the four first-round games of the tournament have been moved to Capital City High School.
