Cross Country: Blair Oaks boys win Bowling Green Invitational

BOWLING GREEN - The Blair Oaks Falcons came away with a first-place finish in the team standings Friday during the Bowling Green Invitational.

Blair Oaks posted 98 points with 21 teams recording a score on the boys side. Father Tolton was runner-up with 110 points and St. Charles and Hannibal tied for third with 134 points.

The Falcons had four finishers in the top 25. They were led by Thomas McCauley, who placed 12th out of 181 runners with a time of 17:26.74.

Next for Blair Oaks was Levi Frisbie, who was 15th in a time of 17:28.12. Nick Stover crossed the finish line in 16th place in 17:33.90 and Easton DeMilia placed 24th in 17:56.02.

Cody Pickett rounded out the team score, taking 40th place in 18:18.38.

Other Blair Oaks runners in the boys race were Nolan DeMilia (96th, 19:50.74) and Dex Crane (135th, 21:20.29).

The Blair Oaks girls finished fourth out of 17 teams with 127 points. Tolton won the girls title with 46 points, followed by Southern Boone with 54 points and Centralia with 121 points.

Clara Lackman paced the Lady Falcons with a time of 21:54.26, finishing in 24th place. Chelsi Forck finished 29th in 22:13.19 and Hannah Brenneke was 32nd in 22:20.68.

Ansley Casey was 39th in 22:46.11, Lucia Wilde was 40th in 22:48.69 and Brooklyn Heislen was 41st in 22:54.63. Jazmin Birkey finished 51st out of 142 runners with a time of 23:19.70.

The Calvary Lutheran boys took 11th as a team with 301 points. The Lions were led by Kyle Hagemeyer, who was fifth overall with a time of 16:40.2. Jaxson Jobe added a top-10 finish, placing 10th in 17:21.14.

Also competing for the Lions were Lars Marion (97th, 19:52.69), Sam Schnitzler (120th, 20:42.87), Alex Roettgen (121st, 20:43.36), Ben Kuhlmann (142nd, 21:29.22) and Gage Pavely (162nd, 22:20.31).

Sonya Brunner led the Calvary Lutheran girls - who did not post a team score - with a 35th-place time of 22:28.82.

Kaleigh Kaiser finished 116th in a time of 27:26.27, followed by Sydney Morris (125th, 28:16.48) and Madelyn Goodson (134th, 29:35.11).

The Russellville boys placed 12th in the team standings with 334 points, followed by New Bloomfield in 13th with 337.

Nathan Hinrichs was runner-up with a time of 15:53.48, trailing only Southern Boone's Connor Burns (15:33.56). Arjay Wilson led the Indians with a time of 18:10.92 to finish 37th.

For the girls, New Bloomfield was 11th with 296 points and Russellville placed 14th with 346.

Mikaela Lemelin led the Lady Wildcats with a 19th-place time of 21:27.32, while Cami Grayson took 36th place with a time of 22:33.39.
