Your Opinion: Ban cars after automobile killings?

Dear Editor:

Mass killing by automobile and where are all those liberals with their liberal logic that says to keep it from happening again, we must keep the tool that was used away from those who didn't commit the crime? That is the way they treat gun ownership, especially if the gun happens to be an AR-type weapon, even though they are used less than 50 percent as often as a knife to kill other humans.

Liberal logic, of course, is an oxymoron as there really is no logic to it, it's purely emotional, as attacking the tool rather than the person actually committing the crime accomplishes nothing, and actually makes solving the problem harder as all your energy is spent solving a problem that doesn't exist. Like, really, do they think the gun just woke up one day and decided to kill someone?

Certainly, I know their argument is, "If there were no guns, there would be no killings," which is so absurd as to be nonsensical. The first killing in biblical history was most likely by knife, still a very popular tool used by many who choose to kill, yet not a single peep from those do-gooders about taking knives away to keep killings from occurring.

No, the problem is not the gun, or knife, or car for that matter, it is that ever-so-complicated thing we call a brain and how we barely have a clue as to why or how it makes some act out in destructive ways and others in the same conditions not.

How about we take all that energy, time and money being spent trying to eliminate the tools used and put it toward the real problem, the mental conditions of those who seem to have a need to destroy property and people?
