The Missouri Department of Transportation is looking for public feedback regarding two bridge projects planned on I-70 in Mid-Missouri next year.

The westbound I-70 bridge over Little Cedar Creek in Boone County and the westbound I-70 bridge over Cedar Creek in Callaway County are 50 years old and have reached a point where rehabilitation is necessary to extend the life and usability of the bridges by 15 years, according to a MoDOT news release.

The cost to do the work on both bridges is estimated at $775,000.

Crews will remove and replace the existing asphalt wearing surface, repair the bridge's substructure, apply an epoxy coating of substructure concrete, and repair the sinking pavement on the approach to the bridge.

All lanes of I-70 will be open during daytime hours. There will be intermittent overnight westbound I-70 lane closures. Specific lane closures and detour information will be announced when a timeline for the project has been established.

Motorists and area residents can ask questions or provide feedback on this project using the digital comment form at modot.org/Westbound70BridgeRehabs. The online public comment period is open through April 9.
