by Joe Gamm | July 13, 2021 at 5:05 a.m. | Updated July 13, 2021 at 11:09 a.m.

HALO will host a 3-on-3 basketball tournament to benefit at-risk youths next month.

The inaugural HALO HEAT tournament is to begin 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12.

HALO provides housing, healing and education for homeless and at-risk children around the world. The nonprofit has learning centers and housing programs in Jefferson City and Kansas City, and programming in New York and in Portland, Oregon.

It supports orphanages in Uganda, Kenya, Mexico and India.

The tournament will take place at Central Bank's Financial Center on Miller Street in Jefferson City.

It is open to any team, ages 14 and older. It will include a special halftime shootout, a "grudge match" between Central and Jefferson bank teams, prizes and entertainment.

Register a team or sign up as a sponsor at haloworldwide.org/event/3v3.

Individuals and businesses are encouraged to assemble a team. Participants can also raise funds for the tournament or donate without participating.
