WESTPHALIA - The Fatima Lady Comets held the Steelville Lady Cardinals scoreless in the first quarter, then held on in the fourth quarter for a 54-48 victory Wednesday in the semifinals of the Fatima Lady Comet Classic.
Fatima was ahead 18-0 after the game's opening eight minutes. The Lady Comets continued to lead 28-15 at halftime and 41-24 through three quarters.
Steelville won the scoring battle 24-13 in the fourth quarter to cut the final margin to six points.
Morgan Luebbering led the Lady Comets with 24 points and Alli Robertson finished with 17 points, making four 3-pointers.
Fatima (13-3), ranked No. 6 in Class 4, will play in the Classic championship game against St. James at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
