Finding the time to register to vote can be a hassle, which is why the News Tribune will hold a voter registration drive-thru event Wednesday evening.

The voter registration drive-thru will be 4:30-6 p.m. in the News Tribune's parking lot at 210 Monroe St. in Jefferson City.

Cole County residents who wish to register to vote can simply pull up to the parking lot, and News Tribune employees will be available to help fill out their voter registration forms.

Voters who need to change their names or addresses on their voter registrations can also do so at the voter registration event.

News Tribune staff will deliver the voter registration forms to the Cole County Clerk's Office the following day.

The News Tribune will also have absentee and mail-in voting request forms available for those who wish to vote by absentee or mail-in. Voting FAQ information also will be available.

News Tribune employees will wear face masks, use hand sanitizer regularly and practice social distancing during the event.

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 3 general election is Oct. 7.
