Jefferson City man charged after chase

A Jefferson City man has been charged in connection with a Feb. 1 high-speed chase.

Ron Holman, 38, is charged with resisting a lawful detention and careless and imprudent driving.

Holman allegedly was driving in the 2600 block of Missouri Boulevard without headlights, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement. An officer tried to stop Holman, but he failed to yield and the pursuit ensued.

The pursuit went onto U.S. 50 West then onto eastbound U.S. 50 before the officer lost sight of the vehicle. He later spotted Holman again in the 3600 block of U.S. 50 West, and another pursuit began with speeds reaching more than 100 mph.

The pursuit continued onto city streets and ended in the parking lot of Break Time at 810 Stadium Blvd. when Holman voluntarily stopped.
