Jefferson City residents injured in weekend wrecks

A Jefferson City man was hurt Sunday morning in a motorcycle crash in Cole County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Harold L. Fry, 50, received moderate injuries and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia following the 1:35 a.m. wreck on Missouri 179 one mile south of Native Ridge. 

The patrol said Fry, who was wearing a helmet, was driving southbound when the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve, went down, slid off the road and overturned.

Two women were injured in a two-vehicle wreck at 7:20 p.m. Friday on U.S. 50 at the west junction of Old 50 in Morgan County.

The patrol reported a car driven eastbound by Duncan W. Jeffress, 24, of Otterville, was stopped to make a left turn when it was struck in the rear by an eastbound pickup truck driven by Joshua L. Barnes, 22, of Buckner. 

Two occupants of the pickup were transported by ambulance following the accident. Abigail E. Masek, 21, of Jefferson City, received moderate injuries and was taken to Bothwell Memorial Hospital in Sedalia, while Ashley N. Walters, 22, of Warrensburg, sustained minor injuries and was taken to University Hospital.
