College Wrestling: Falotico finishes fifth

INDIANAPOLIS - McKendree redshirt junior Frankie Falotico took fifth place out of 30 wrestlers at 149 pounds last Saturday in the Greyhound Open.

Falotico (Blair Oaks High School) won his first three matches to advance to the semifinals, recording pins against Austin Rainbolt and Elliott Molloy - both unattached from teams - and winning a 2-1 decision against Indiana's Asa Garcia.

In the semifinals, Falotico lost a 4-2 decision to eventual champion Breyden Bailey of Indianapolis. He then lost a 4-3 decision to Indiana Tech's Nate Wheeler in the consolation semifinals.

Falotico finished the tournament with a 9-5 win against SIU-Edwardsville's Max Kristoff in the fifth-place match.

Falotico improved his season record to 8-6.

McKendree hosts Ouachita Baptist on Friday.
