Your Opinion: Real truth will come out about Trump's rise

Dear Editor:

Nixon was lucky the voting age in 1968 was still 21, or he most certainly wouldn't have become the president. Nixon didn't give the order for the National Guard to fire on student protesters at Kent State University in Ohio, but he certainly helped establish the atmosphere that led to it. The same type of dangerous atmosphere that our current president, Donald Trump, helps build daily. Nixon delayed the 1968 Peace Agreement by promising a "better deal" for the Communists if he could defeat Democratic nominee Hubert Humphrey. The delay cost American troops 6,000-8,000 deaths and twice as many wounded. Nixon's sabotage of the peace talks in Vietnam thus prolonging the war for political gains is far worse than anything he did in the event and eventual movie called "Watergate."

George W. Bush's "Weapons of Mass Destruction War" in Iraq is another example of Republicans using any means such as "fake news" to gain a political advantage and another four years in office. A 2010 movie called the "Green Zone" starring Matt Damon showcases the efforts made to quiet the investigation and prove the non-existence of WMD in Iraq.

Someday in the future, the real truth will come out and a movie made about Donald Trump's rise to power and eventual failure as a president and world leader. These three presidents representing the Republican Party have demonstrated the will to win at any cost as long as it isn't costing themselves anything.
