COLUMBIA - Caleb Distler of New Bloomfield finished second Saturday in the varsity boys White Division at the Gans Creek Classic/Pre-State cross country meet.
Distler finished with a time of 16:39.9. Malik Stewart of Maplew00d-Richmond Heights was first in among the 216 runners in 16:27.6.
Nathan Hinrichs was seventh for New Bloomfield with a time of 17:21.0. Jace Pitzen finished 63rd in 19:55.8, while Brian Figard was 71sth in 20:02.5. Aiden Carr finished 134th in 21:28.1, while Lucas Haley was 177th in 23:03.9. Easton Ambler was 200th in 25:49.6, while John Seidner was 204th in 26:28.7.
New Bloomfield finished fifth as a team with 244 points. Bowling Green was first with 146, with Whitfield second with 181. Moberly (205) and New Haven (213) rounded out the top four in the 26-team field.
The Lady Wildcats had a pair of runners in the varsity girls Blue Division.
Jill Pry 120th in 24:01.8 for New Bloomfield, while Kylie Quinn 131st in 24:17.8.
