Prep Baseball: St. Elizabeth wins AA Bash

EUGENE - The St. Elizabeth Hornets defeated the Eugene Eagles 9-2 in the championship game of the AA Bash on Saturday.

Nolan Heckemeyer pitched 6 innings in the win, allowing two runs on four hits with five walks and seven strikeouts. Clayton Holtmeyer closed the game with a strikeout.

Heckemeyer was also 4-for-5 at the plate with two doubles, two runs scored and three RBI. Caleb Oligschlaeger and Cole Otto each went 2-for-4, while Carson Kesel was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Earlier Saturday in pool play, St. Elizabeth won 1-0 against Bunceton/Prairie Home.

Kesel pitched a four-hitter, walking three and striking out eight. Oligschlaeger was 2-for-3, while Kesel accounted for the game's only run with a solo home run in the second inning.

St. Elizabeth (6-0) plays Tuesday at New Bloomfield.
