Prep Softball: Eugene 21, Linn 8

LINN - The Eugene Lady Eagles wrapped up the regular season Tuesday with a 21-8 win in six innings against the Linn Lady Wildcats in Show-Me Conference play.

Eugene finished the game with 17 hits. Kayla Bond led the Lady Eagles at the plate, going 4-for-6 with three singles, one double, four RBI and four runs scored.

Jodi Polly finished with a single, a triple and two RBI, while Hannah Rader had a single and a double. Kaydi Alderman, Ashlynn Kliethermes and Courtney Shaw each had two hits.

Shaw drove in three runs, while Kliethermes had two RBI. Isabelle Brenneke hit a home run and tallied two RBI.

Maggie Stieferman was the winning pitcher, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on nine hits with two walks and two strikeouts in six innings.

Eugene (17-2) is the No. 1 seed in the Class 2 District 10 Tournament at Richland. The Lady Eagles await the winner of No. 4 Dixon and No. 5 Richland in the semifinals at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

In the JV game, Eugene won 7-4 in three innings.

Saylor Haney was 2-for-2 with a single, a triple and three RBI for the Lady Eagles. Kliethermes struck out four batters and walked one in the pitcher's circle.
