BRENTWOOD - Cole Shoemaker was a finisher for the South Callaway Bulldogs on Friday night.
The senior quarterback scored all five of South Callaway's touchdowns to lead the No. 2 seed Bulldogs to a 35-20 victory against the top-seeded Brentwood Eagles in the Class 1 District 6 championship game.
South Callaway (6-6) will host Marceline (11-1) next Saturday in the quarterfinals.
Marceline, the seventh-ranked team in the Missouri Media Rankings, defeated Sweet Springs 23-14 on Friday.
Brentwood got on the board first when Reggie Jeffery completed a 30-yard touchdown pass to Jon Danfort. The Eagles converted the two-point conversion to lead 8-0 with 6:59 left in the first quarter.
The score was 8-6 after one quarter of play thanks to Shoemaker's 1-yard touchdown run at the 4:13 mark.
The teams traded touchdowns in the second quarter with Shoemaker scoring from 3 yards out for the Bulldogs' score with 8:19 left in the quarter.
The game was tied at 14 at halftime.
Shoemaker added touchdown runs of 4, 1 and 2 yards in the second half.
