BELLE - The Missouri Military Academy Colonels overcame a 12-point deficit after one quarter to beat the South Callaway Bulldogs 67-64 on Wednesday to open the Belle Tournament.
The Bulldogs led 20-8 through one quarter, but the Colonels won the scoring edge the next two quarters. M.M.A. trailed 34-27 at halftime and outscored South Callaway 21-10 in the third quarter to lead 48-44.
Kaden Helsel finished with a game-high 30 points for the Bulldogs. Dylan Paschang and Treysen Gray each scored 10 points.
South Callaway (3-11) the No. 6 seed in the tournament, plays third-seeded Belle at 7:30 p.m. today.
