Beginning soon, the Auxvasse Municipal Court will no longer hold sessions in Auxvasse.
"We are in the process of transferring it over to Callaway County," said Missy Hooks, Auxvasse's court clerk.
In the future, the Auxvasse Municipal Court will be held in the Callaway County Courthouse in Fulton. No definite date for the change has been set.
However, according to Auxvasse City Supervisor Michael Bertschinger, people required to appear in court past the date of the location change will be notified at the time of their citations.
"The switch is mostly to keep people on the same page," Bertschinger said.
He explained the Callaway County court is full-time, whereas the Auxvasse court is only part-time. The current set-up makes it difficult for people who have questions to reach someone in a timely manner.
Bertschinger said he doesn't anticipate the change causing much inconvenience for residents.
"We don't have a lot of tickets every month," he said.
He added that most tickets are issued to people from out of town.
