Prep Baseball: Blair Oaks 13, New Bloomfield 1

NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. - Blair Oaks senior Tyler Swehla struck out nine batters and allowed just one hit Monday in the Falcons' 13-1 win in five innings against the New Bloomfield Wildcats.

Blair Oaks pushed five runs across the plate in the first inning and added five more in the second to take a 10-0 lead. The Falcons scored their other three runs in the fourth.

Swehla, who allowed his only hit in the third inning, gave up his only run in the fifth. He also walked three batters.

Thomas Verslues, Garrett Welschmeyer and Ryan Paschal each collected two hits for Blair Oaks. Paschal also had three RBI and Jason Rackers and Verslues each drove in two runs.

Blair Oaks (3-0) will host a tripleheader Saturday at the Falcon Athletic Complex. The Falcons will face Vienna at 10 a.m. and Linn at 2:30 p.m.

New Bloomfield (1-3) will host Pilot Grove on Thursday.

Blair Oaks won Monday's JV game 12-0 in four innings. Parker Bax struck out 10 in getting the win for the Falcons (1-0). Gavin Bernskoetter and Michael Parmley had two RBI each.
