CALIFORNIA, Mo. - The California Lady Pintos set a school record Tuesday, making 16 3-pointers to beat the Southern Boone Lady Eagles 80-58 to open Tri-County Conference play.
California, ranked No. 4 in Class 3, led 17-9 after one quarter. The Lady Pintos scored 25 points in each of the next two quarters, building a 42-25 lead at halftime and stretching it to 67-43 through three quarters.
Brittney Ellington scored a team-high 19 points for the Lady Pintos, making six 3-pointers. Tristian Porter finished with 17 points and five 3-pointers, while Elizabeth Lutz added 15 points.
California (6-0) faces third-ranked Hermann (6-1) at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Capital City Shootout at Fleming Fieldhouse.
