Units from the Holts Summit Fire Protection District responded Wednesday afternoon to extinguish a residential structure fire.
Firefighters were dispatched around 3:30 p.m. to the 700 block of Branch Road, where they found smoke coming from a home.
Public Information Officer Scott Pasley credited the homeowner with discovering and reporting the blaze quickly, enabling firefights to rapidly bring it under control. Fire damage was contained to the kitchen area, and no one was injured.
Holts Summit firefighters received mutual aid from South Callaway and New Bloomfield fire districts.
