Three injured in Monday accident

Three people were treated for minor injuries following a three-vehicle accident Monday evening in Jefferson City.

Police reports show the accident occurred at 5:14 p.m. in the 3400 block of Missouri Boulevard.

A vehicle driven by Jessica Hayes, 22, of Jefferson City, was going west and crashed into the rear of a vehicle driven by John Carr-Metgzer, 44, of Blue Springs. His vehicle was forced forward into the rear of a vehicle driven by Anitajan Patterson, 40, of Jefferson City.

Hayes and Carr-Metgzer were taken to local hospitals for treatment, while Patterson was not transported.

Hayes was not wearing a seat belt, while Carr-Metgzer and Patterson were wearing their seat belts.

The 3400 block of Missouri Boulevard was down to one lane of traffic for about an hour while emergency crews were on the scene.

The crash is being investigated by the police department's traffic unit.

• A Jefferson City man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 2:40 p.m. Monday on Kensington Park north of Hunters Road in Cole County.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report, a 2007 Honda CBR 1000RR, driven southbound by Jeremiah A. Mallicoat, 32, struck a pothole and overturned. The vehicle slid into the side of a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am parked on the side of the road heading south.

Mallicoat was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City.

He was not wearing a seat belt.
