Maru's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina, a Mexican-style eatery on Jefferson City's west side, has closed permanently as of last week.
The restaurant, located at 242 Jaycee Drive just off Industrial Drive, has had a Missouri business license since December 2013, and recently cancelled its Jefferson City business license, according to the city's finance department.
Owners of Maru's announced the decision to close on the business' Facebook page Sept. 14, citing busy schedules and another business requiring their focus.
"We want to thank everyone for the wonderful support you have always given us," the post said. "We loved making good food and loved serving you!"
Former customers of the restaurant voiced disappointment in response to the post, leaving notes like: "Many good memories," "The best Mexican restaurant in Jefferson City by far," and "By far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Jeff."
The restaurant's owner did not respond to a request for comment.
