Missouri woman accused of endangerment in son's bed death

CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A suburban St. Louis woman whose son suffocated after authorities say she drunkenly took him to bed with her is accused of misdemeanor child endangerment.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1LzUFU8) reports 30-year-old Connie Lynn Novak of Overland is charged in connection with the August death of 10-week-old Jayce Novak.

Authorities say the infant was found unresponsive in his parents' bed at their home, and the St. Louis County medical examiner's office later ruled death a homicide by asphyxia.

Novak told police she'd been drinking beer and vodka all night until about midnight, woke up early the next morning and fed a bottle to Jayce. Police say she put the child in her bed, where she and her husband were sleeping,

Online court records don't show whether Novak has an attorney.
