Shea leads Helias' state track qualifiers in Class 4

Helias boys advance in two events

ELDON, Mo. - The Helias Lady Crusaders will compete in five events at the Class 4 state track and field championships after sectional competition Saturday.

Kaitlyn Shea will lead the contingent at the championships that start Friday at Dwight T. Reed Stadium in Jefferson City. Shea advanced in the 800-, 1.600- and 3,200-meter runs as well as being a member of the 4x800-meter relay.

Kylie Frank will join Shea in the 800 as well as the relay, while Erica Haslag will compete in the high jump.

The Helias girls finished with 67 team points Saturday to take second behind Webb City (85).

On the boys side, the Crusaders advanced in two events.

Collin Caywood will compete in the long jump, while Helias also moved on the 4x800-meter relay.

Helias finished with 18 team points Saturday to take 12th. West Plains was first with 130.
