Ailing veteran faces foreclosure

Bob Sneller would like to keep his home.

Operation: Stand Your Back has been created by individuals, business, friends and former colleagues of Sneller and his family to help him do that.

An online gofundme account combined with one at Home Savings Bank have been created for those willing to donate to help the veteran avoid foreclosure.

The deadline is Thursday to raise $14,000.

All funds collected will either help the family keep its home or help them move.

The Sneller family have been loyal volunteers for Operation Bugle Boy and Relay for Life, despite their health conditions.

"It's our turn to help them!" a circulating email said.

Sneller had three surgeries in 2014, combined with several other medical expenses through the years. And his wife Sandy has had two bouts with cancer and other health-related problems. They are both drawing Social Security disability.

The foreclosure attorney told volunteers that the $14,000 would bring the house payments up to date and end the foreclosure set for Jan. 23.

Sneller served with the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam and later with the Missouri National Guard aviation support.
