TUSCUMBIA - The Fatima Lady Comets used a huge fourth quarter to pull out a win in a battle of state-ranked teams, topping Tuscumbia 60-46 on Monday.
Fatima, the fifth-ranked team in the state in Class 3, was up 18-12 after one quarter. But Tuscumbia, the fourth-ranked team in Class 1, had a 14-9 edge in the second quarter to get to within 27-26 at intermission.
The Lady Lions then outscored the Lady Comets 11-8 in the third quarter to take a 37-35 edge. But Fatima outscored Tuscumbia 25-9 in the fourth to pull out the victory.
Morgan Brandt led a balanced effort for Fatima with 17 points. Sammey Bunch chipped in with 16 and Katt Massman had 12.
Fatima (20-2) will host South Callaway on Wednesday.
