Helias girls roll past Troy in tournament

WASHINGTON, Mo. - The Helias Lady Crusaders put three players in double figures while ripping Troy 63-33 on Monday in the first round of the St. Francis Borgia Tournament.

Helias, the third seed, took a 14-7 lead after one quarter and led sixth-seeded Troy 35-18 at halftime. The Lady Crusaders' lead was 48-31 heading to the fourth quarter, where they held the Lady Trojans to just two points.

Darcy Baird and Katlyn Cowell led Helias with 15 points apiece, while Mai Nienhueser chipped in with 14.

The Lady Crusaders (11-7) will play second-seeded Washington at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday in the winner's bracket semifinals.
