The most anticipated film to come out in years drew a big crowd Thursday night to the Capital 8 Theaters.

Theater Manager Darci Gerity said there were six showings of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" running in three auditoriums.

Today they have 15 showings scheduled.

"I've worked here five years, and this is the biggest build up I've ever seen," she said.

Gerity said half of their ticket sales were sold online and the rest by people coming to the box office.

"We are very aware of what is going on in the building and will be aware of what's going on at all times," she said.

Among the fans coming out to see the first showings of the film were Brandon and Susan Easter from Ashland, who came dressed as a Sith Lord and a Jedi, respectively.

"I was born in 1977, the year 'Star Wars' came out, so I've grown up with it," said Brandon.

"Ten years ago, I was online and saw what others were doing with costumes, so I told Brandon, and we started making costumes and coming out to various events," Susan said.

"When you have little kids come up and want to give you hugs at these events when they see you all dressed up - that's what makes it worthwhile," Brandon said. "I've told people it's probably like a drug because it's a great adrenaline rush."
