Softball: Lady Jays 18, Lebanon 0

LEBANON, Mo. - The Zac Miller era of Jefferson City High School softball began with a bang Tuesday, as the Lady Jays hit their way to a 18-0 defeat of Lebanon in five innings in their new coach's first game.

Alex Gilliland was 2-for-3 with two home runs - including a grand slam - and five RBI. Emily Williams was 2-for-2 with a homer of her own and seven RBI. Ashton Glass went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Alyssa Schulte went 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Schulte picked up the win, allowing one hit with three strikeouts and no walks in four innings. Freshman Mychael Jett threw the final inning, allowing no hits.

The Lady Jays junior varsity fell 4-3.

Jefferson City plays its home opener today against Rock Bridge.
