Dancers' Alley holding fundraiser

Dancers' Alley of Jefferson City will hold a benefit performance to support The Andréa Rizzo Foundation's nationwide fundraising effort "Dance Across America."

The studio will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at Miller Performing Arts Center.

Director/owner Katherine Howland will oversee approximately 31 dancers, ages 10-28, at the benefit performance. The event, held in honor of both Dréa's Dream and National Dance Week, will feature various styles of dance including ballet, jazz, modern and contemporary.

Special guest stars include Cameron MisFit Graham, Jessie Burgess, and the Missouri Contemporary Ballet. In addition, Dancers' Alley dancers have been asked to write essays on dance and will be setting recorded excerpts to music and creating choreographed dances to the pieces.

Tickets are available from competition team members, at the Dancers' Alley studio located at 515 E. McCarty St., by calling 635-6610, or at the box office at Miller Performing Arts Center one hour before show time.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. All of net proceeds collected from this event will benefit Dance Across America.
