COLUMBIA - It's another Southeastern Conference honor for Shane Ray.
Ray, a junior defensive end from Kansas City, was named the SEC Defensive Line Player of the Week on Monday after totaling a career high in tackles and tying his best single-game total in quarterback sacks.
Ray had eight tackles (all solo) and two sacks in Missouri's 21-20 road victory Saturday night at South Carolina.
It's the second time Ray has earned a conference award this season. He was the SEC Defensive Player of the Week earlier this month for his efforts against Central Florida, when he totaled seven tackles (four for loss), two sacks and a forced fumble.
Missouri (4-1, ranked No. 24) is off this week.
