Local man killed in car-truck crash

A Jefferson City man was killed in a two-vehicle accident at 4:28 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 40 at Henderson Road in Boone County.

According a Missouri Highway Patrol report, a 2007 Honda Civic driven southbound by Lance J. Bingaman, 23, Jefferson City, pulled into the path of a 1999 Ford F450, driven westbound by Nicholas M. McCune, 26, Columbia.

Bingaman was pronounced dead at the scene by Boone County medical examiner Dori Burke.

Bingaman was not wearing a seat belt. McCune was wearing a seat belt.

In a separate incident, a Macks Creek man was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 6 a.m. Tuesday on Route N, south of Seminole Lane in Camden County.

The patrol reported a 2012 Triumph Motorco Tiger 800, driven southbound by George E. Hodges, 47, struck a deer and ejected Hodges.

He was taken to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.

Hodges was wearing a safety device.
