A Jefferson City man has been charged with stabbing another man early Tuesday morning.

Brandon Rapier, 24, of 1211 Adams St., is charged with two counts of first-degree assault and one count of first-degree property damage.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows Rapier stabbed a man just before 3:40 a.m. in the 1400 block of East McCarty Street.

The victim suffered two wounds on the left side of his torso and a large laceration near his left shoulder.

Rapier also caused more than $750 worth of damage to the victim's vehicle, puncturing all four tires and breaking the windshield glass.

The victim's girlfriend told police that Rapier, her ex-boyfriend, came to the victim's residence because he was upset that she has a new boyfriend. Rapier confronted the victim on the front porch and began stabbing him.

The victim told police he had received threatening phone calls and text messages from Rapier over the course of the last several days.
