Community band to perform Sunday

With a program to honor veterans, the Jefferson City Community Symphonic Band will perform a traditional military band-style concert at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Capitol Rotunda.

The 50-piece ensemble's 90-minute performance will include "Trumpet Olé," "Scottish Rhapsody," a new piece by American composer Frank Ticheli "Rest," "Masquerade," an overture from the television show "Victory At Sea," "Fantasy for Band," "Hymn Song," "Broadway Starlight Express" medley, and "Shoutin' Liza Trombones."

The community band is in its fifth year and welcomes new members.
