Fatima tops Southern Boone

EUGENE - The Fatima Comets will play for another district title.

Logan Vogel allowed one hit and Reid Keisel was 3-for-4 with three RBI to lift third-seeded Fatima to a 7-3 win against No. 2 Southern Boone in a Class 3 District 13 semifinal game on Monday.

Vogel gave up three runs (no earned) and struck out three in six innings to get the win for Fatima (18-9).

Tony Swarthout pitched a scoreless seventh inning to close the door on Southern Boone (15-12).

Will Robertson was 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Zach Hudspeth added two hits to help lead the Comets at the plate. John Fick was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Hunter Hennier added a solo home run in the top of the seventh to help pace Fatima on the offensive end.

Fatima will play for their sixth district championship in eight years under head coach Scott Kilgore when the Comets take on top-seeded Blair Oaks for the third straight year at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Eugene.
