MONTREAL (AP) - Diego Valeri broke a tie in the 82nd minute and the Portland Timbers held off Montreal 3-2 on Sunday night to extend the Impact's losing streak to five games.

Maximiliano Urruti and Will Johnson also scored for Portland (6-6-9).

Andres Romero and Maxim Tissot scored for Montreal (3-12-5).

Valeri pounced on a giveaway by Mamadou Danso, the former Timbers defender making his first appearance for the Impact, and fired a shot past goalkeeper Evan Bush.

Montreal assistant coach Mauro Biello directed the Impact after coach Frank Klopas was suspended for arguing with the referee after team's loss to Real Salt Lake on Thursday night.

FC DALLAS 2, WHITECAPS 2, TIE

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Pedro Morales scored on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute to help Vancouver tie FC Dallas.

Darren Mattocks opened the scoring for Vancouver (6-4-10) in the 11th minute with his fifth goal of the season and third in three game.

Blas Perez, off a scramble in front of the net, tied for Dallas (8-7-5) in the 29th minute, and Brazilian midfielder Michel added a goal on a penalty kick in the 39th.

Dallas is 3-0-3 in its last three games.
