Helias edges Hillcrest to take fifth in tournament

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Helias Crusaders captured consolation honors Saturday afternoon in the Missouri Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame Classic with a 49-48 victory against Springfield Hillcrest.

Isiah Sykes finished with 15 points to lead the Crusaders, who finished the tournament with a 2-1 record. Sam Husting added 12 points for Helias, while Hale Hentges pulled down six rebounds.

Helias will open the home portion of its schedule Thursday against Eldon. The junior varsity game will be played at 6 p.m. in the Helias Gym, with the varsity contest to follow around 7:30 p.m. in Rackers Fieldhouse.
