SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Jia Perkins scored 23 points and the San Antonio Stars extended Becky Hammon's career with a 92-76 victory over the Minnesota Lynx on Friday night.
Hammon is retiring at the end of the season following a 16-year career in the WNBA after she was undrafted out of Colorado State. She will join the San Antonio Spurs and become the first full-time female assistant coach in the NBA.
Spurs general manager R.C. Buford and "Good Morning America" anchor Robin Roberts were among the largest home crowd of the season as San Antonio commemorated Hammon's career with a postgame ceremony.
Hammon received a standing ovation and a long embrace from Stars coach Dan Hughes upon exiting the game with 1:20 remaining and San Antonio having secured its seventh playoff berth in eight seasons.
She finished with seven points and 10 assists in 23 minutes.
The Stars (15-18) secured the final playoff berth in the Western Conference, and will face either the Lynx or top-seeded Phoenix Mercury.
Maya Moore scored 20 points, Tan White added 15 and Lindsay Whalen had 13 for Minnesota (24-9).
MYSTICS 71, SUN 67
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) - Emma Meesseman had 16 points and seven rebounds, and Washington earned its second straight Eastern Conference playoff berth.
Ivory Latta had 16 points for Washington (16-17) and rookie Bria Hartley scored 13.
Alex Bentley scored 16 and rookie Chiney Ogwumike added 13 points and eight rebounds for the Sun (12-21). They were without starting guards Katie Douglas (back) and Allison Hightower (knee).
The idle New York Liberty were eliminated from postseason contention, giving Connecticut two picks in the 2015 draft lottery. Besides their own, the Sun also have New York's as part of a deal that sent Tina Charles to the Liberty.
DREAM 92, SHOCK 76
ATLANTA (AP) - Ericka de Souza had 21 points and 12 rebounds, and Atlanta used a 20-4 second-quarter run to pull away from Tulsa.
Sancho Lyttle scored 17 points and Aneika Henry had 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Dream. Angel McCoughtry, the Dream's leading scorer, came off the bench after missing two games due to tendinitis in her feet. She scored 12 points in 15 minutes.
Atlanta won its second straight after a five-game losing streak. The Dream (19-14) clinched the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference on Wednesday.
Skylar Diggins, who was shut out in the first half, led Tulsa (12-21) with 24 points. She was 0 for 6 during the decisive first half. Odyssey Sims had 23 points.
