Taste of Home is bringing its cooking school to Mid-Missouri this week. The event, sponsored by the News Tribune, is at 4 p.m. Thursday at Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City.
Doors open at 4 p.m. and the cooking school begins at 6:30 p.m.
Rachel Verslues, marketing coordinator at the News Tribune, said anyone who has a passion for cooking should attend the event.
"A culinary specialist for Taste of Home demos 10 recipes on stage and teaches more effective cooking techniques and provides tips," she said.
She also said there will be various vendors at the event, including those selling cooking supplies, cleaning products and even make-up.
A concessions and cash bar will also be available. Attendees will receive a Taste of Home goody bag.
General admission tickets are $12 and may be purchased at the News Tribune, 210 Monroe St., at the Jefferson City HyVee, or by calling (573) 761-0277.
