SULLIVAN, Mo. - The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons are one win away from advancing to their second consecutive Class 3 Final Four.
Blair Oaks topped Sullivan 13-0 in a sectional game Wednesday for the second straight year.
"Tonight, the team played what I think what was one of our best games of the season," Blair Oaks head coach Sharon Buschjost said. "We are playing at a high level."
Payton Staggs delivered a strong performance from the pitcher's circle, allowing two hits with six strikeouts and no walks.
Jolie Duffner went 3-for-4 with three RBI, Taylor Markway added three hits and LeeAnn Polowy collected two hits, two runs scored an an RBI. Sara Jones and Ashley Forck both had a hit and two RBI. Blair Oaks racked up 12 hits.
Blair Oaks (23-4) hosts Monett (23-4) on Saturday at a time to be determined, with the winner advancing to Springfield for the Final Four.
"You get that close, you understand the importance and magnitude of it," Buschjost said. "You understand the excitment and what the opportunity means.
"We'll be facing a very tough Monett team. Knowing we're one win away, that close to it, it adds to the excitement."
