Columbia College expands international education

COLUMBIA (AP) - Columbia College is expanding its efforts to offer international education.

In the past year, Columbia College has added four new international partner institutions and is working to send some of its students abroad soon.

Britta Wright, director of international student services, says the school in Columbia wants more of its students to have international opportunities.

The school has added partner institutions in Scotland, South Korea, Thailand and Japan. The college has had a partnership with a university in South Korea since 1998, but it has sent only one student to study there.

Wright says at least five international students will attend Columbia College this fall. She hopes to have Columbia College students traveling abroad by next spring or fall.
