A new baby in your family doesn't come with an owner's manual to guide you step-by-step. Fortunately for parents and grandparents, a new resource is coming to Jefferson City.
Baby Bonanza 2012, which will be held from 1-5 p.m. March 18 at Capitol Plaza Hotel, will feature a wide range of exhibitors, great prizes, crawling contests, a fashion show, and educational presentations for every age and stage of baby.
Presentations will be given by: Dr. Sarah Gordon, JCMG pediatrician, on childhood development and parent resources; Denise Coots, St. Mary's dietitian, on diet during pregnancy and making your own baby food; Dr. Esteban Marten, JCMG plastic surgeon, on getting your body back after baby; Stacey Welling, Whaley's Mommy & Me, and Becky Schwaller, St. Mary's certified lactation consultant, on breast-feeding; Women's Clinic of JCMG obstetricians Dr. Amanda Rodemann, Dr. Jodi Berendzen and Dr. Brandi Nichols and MU infertility specialist Dr. Mira
Aubuchon, on getting pregnant in your 30s; Dr. Jamie Showers, Showers Chiropractic Clinic, on chiropractic pre-natal manipulation, acupuncture and massage; and Dr. Jackie Henry, St. Mary's health psychologist, on changes in your family when the new baby comes home.
General admission is $5; no RSVP is needed, and all proceeds benefit the March of Dimes.
