Tipton graduate nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year

Recent Westminster College graduate Rachel Backes has been selected as a NCAA Woman of the Year nominee by the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The NCAA Woman of the Year Award honors graduating student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership.

Backes, a Tipton High School graduate, was a four-year letter-winner on the Blue Jays' basketball team. She was part of teams that compiled a school-record 67 victories.
