During the past month, the MUSTANG Drug Task Force and Jefferson City police have conducted the second phase of their "2012 Heroin Drug Sweep."
This multi-phase operation, which police are calling one of the largest narcotics operations in recent years, was in response to the increase in heroin/opiate distribution and heroin/opiate-related overdoses.
During the second phase of the sweep, search warrants were executed at three residences suspected to be involved in heroin distribution, resulting in 33 arrests.
