SEC slate released for MU basketball

With a new conference comes a new conference record for the Missouri men's basketball team.

In a schedule released Friday, the Tigers announced they will play in 13 Southeastern Conference games on national TV this coming season, a record for the school.

It marks the fifth consecutive year the Tigers have set a record for national TV conference games. As a member of the Big 12, the Tigers set a then-record of seven games in 2008-09, then saw it grow to nine games in 2009-10, 10 in 2010-11 and finally 11 last season, the final year for the Tigers in the Big 12.

The Tigers will play their first SEC contest at home against Alabama on Jan. 8 on ESPN. The Tuesday night contest is slated for a 6 p.m. start. That is one of 11 games for Missouri on the ESPN family of networks - ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU.

The Tigers also have nationally-televised games at Mississippi on Fox Sports Net and a rematch with the Rebels at Mizzou Arena on CBS College Sports. Missouri's remaining league games will be televised by the SEC Network.
