Repeat offender gets 40 years for child porn

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A suburban Kansas City man has been sentenced to 40 years in federal prison for possessing and attempting to distribute child pornography over the Internet.

Martin Cordry admitted in September that he was in possession of child porn when investigators seized his computer and digital media.

The 48-year-old Sugar Creek man also admitted in his guilty plea that he acquired a new computer after his other one was seized and downloaded child porn on the new one, too.

Prosecutors say Cordry was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in prison in 1994 for rape and sodomy of a 7-year-old.
