Jefferson City sirens pass drill

During Thursday's tornado drill, officials at the Jefferson City Police Department 911 center reported the siren-activation system worked fine, but some sirens did malfunction.

The sirens were located at East McCarty Street, Fairgrounds Road and East Miller Street.

Authorities believed most of the repairs would be completed by Friday afternoon, except for the siren at East Miller. Parts had to be ordered for that siren and should be in early next week.

Local emergency management officials reported no other problems and said there was a good turnout at hospitals, schools and city and county buildings of people participating in the drill.
